Elastoflex HP Primer is used to prepare concrete or cementitious surfaces, enhancing the adhesion of the Elastoflex LWS liquid-applied waterproofing system. Elastoflex HP Primer can also be used as an alkaline protection layer.
The Elastoflex HP Primer is a solvent-free, two component primer based on epoxy resin. Component ‘A’ is a yellowish colour; Component ‘B’ is a brown colour. It is supplied as a 10kg (7+3 kg) pack in metal containers.

1. Dependant on environmental conditions. Values attained at 23 °C and 50% rel humidity. Times given are reduced with higher (and increased with lower) surrounding and work surface temperatures.
Apply only when atmospheric and substrate temperatures are greater than 10°C. The surface of the substrate should be clean and dry and must be 3 °C above the dew point. If the surface is below or at dew point temperature then moisture can form at the surface and affect coating adhesion and curing.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) should be worn.
Pour Component B into Component A mixing slowly with a stirring stick or paddle mixer on slow setting. The mixture should be a consistent colour and free from streaks. Mixing time is 2 minutes. To avoid mixing errors, the mixture should be poured into another container and stirred thoroughly. Apply within 25 minutes.
Once ready, apply the mixed primer onto the prepared substrate with a perlon roller, avoiding unnecessary accumulation of product. The specified Elastoflex system can be applied above the primed surface when it is tack-free and dry. Depending upon atmospheric conditions, a minimum 16 hours will be required before overcoating.
Once applied, Elastoflex HP Primer must be overcoated within 8 days of application, otherwise separation effects can occur. If any delays in overcoating are anticipated, Elastoflex Natural Quartz may be broadcast over the wet primer to aid adhesion.
When using Elastoflex HP Primer as an alkali protection barrier, apply to the cured Elastoflex membrane and immediately broadcast Elastoflex Natural Quartz at a rate of approx. 500 to 1000 g/m² ensuring full coverage.
